failed drawing.
I draw henna and anime contrasting with each other in the picture but it did not work. the anime part was ok but the henna didnt work. I beleive this is because of the colours i used, i used light colours that are not useualy used in henna. This has shown me that in my finel peice i will have to use dark colours to draw my henna.
Demonstrating shading techniques and human form
To demonstrate shading i used my research on the human form to draw an anime style person and used all the shading techniques on it.
Shading
In my scetchbook i have recorded 4 different shading techneques. Each one gives different textures to the work.
Henna
I have re-created 3 henna artists work and have noted the differences and simularaties of there work.
Anime
I have taken a picture of my sister and then re-drawin it as anime style this gives me a better understanding of anime and how to draw it as i am not just coppying someone elses work.
Anime eyes.
I have looked up and drawn 9 different anime eyes as they are usually used to show facial expresstion and the feelings of the character.
Spider diagram.
I have created a spider diagram so that i have a starting point of my research of henna and anime. i have noted a bit of information on anime and henna and were you would find it as well as the sources that could be used to research it.
Scetchbook
In my sceatchbook i have:
My Title.
A mindmap with ideas of what i need to research on.
In information on henna tattoos and anime like were it originated from.
Different anime eyes as they are usually used to show emotion.
A anime drawing of my sister from a photo.
Three drawings of art similar to the henna artist i have researched.

Reseach on human form.
After researching anime more i found out that most anime characters normally have realistic human proportions. This means the characters are generally 7 to 8 heads tall. so i have decided to research how to draw people more accurately to improve the quality of my work. (Diagrams in sketchbook).
Artists
I have researched 3 anime artists:
CLAMP is a team of four women—Satsuki Igarashi, Ageha Okawa, Tsubaki Nekoi and Mokona, Naoki Urasawa and Yoshitoshi Abe
I have chosen these three artists as each have there own individual style that are completely different from one another. One uses bright bold colours, whilst one only uses black white and different shades of grey and the other has a sort of eccentric way of expressing Victorian times in my opinion, by the clothes and style of the image.
I have also researched 3 henna artists:
Pavan Ahluwalia, Ayesha and Ash Kumar
I have chosen these tattoo artist as they all have different talents and techniques.
One is very detailed and only uses dark colours on his work, another uses bright colours that stand out with dark browns to add effect to the work and the last uses block colours with darker and lighter shades to add effect.
They all have flowers incorporated into there artwork in some form along with wavy lines.

Filter Effects
Today I have used different filters to change the colour and texture of this image. On the first one I have used the neon glow which has changed it to blue and red. This highlights the henna tattoo in blue and the background in red making it standout. i do not think i will use this filter in my final idea however as it is to abstract and would look odd. On the second image i used as the filter this highlights all the dark areas and intensifies them so that they are bold and stand out more. This filter would work well with my final image as one of the main focuses are the henna tattoos witch will be brought out more with this filter. I used the crosshatch Filter on the third section of my image this did not change the image to much but it does add textures to the image, i won't use this on my final idea however because it does not fit in with the type of work. on the fourth i have used cutout which simplifies the picture i may use this on my work as it would help me to change things to anime because gets rid of the little details i do not need.

Starting point
for my starting point I'm going to research were and when anime artwork and henna tattoo's are originally from.
I'm going to research pictures on anime and there faces as emotions play a big part in anime, I'm also going to find some artist and look through there work to see if there are any distinct features that are in most of their work as well as there own unique styles of anime.
I'm going to research the history for henna tattoos to see how and where they were used in the past.

Adding Filter (after)
To get this effect i changed the colour of the picture to make it all a Green-blue colour in different shades so it looked faded and so it looked transparent. it gives a ghost sort of effect which.
